A Community Pack-Walk Group

A community pack-walk group bringing people and their dogs together to walk for local causes, while building confidence, trust, and teamwork. Purpose: Strengthen the bond between dogs and their humans while serving the local community.

Activities:

Pack walks in neighborhoods and parks.

Monthly themed Stride & Serve Walks supporting local charities (e.g., food drives, rescue fundraisers, awareness walks).

Confidence-building Pack Hikes on local trails to strengthen resilience for both dogs and their handlers.

Benefits:

Dogs gain social skills and confidence in group settings.

Humans connect with like-minded dog lovers and make a difference in their community.

Proceeds, donations, or volunteer time go toward local causes that matter most.

Event Overview The Veterans Day 5K, hosted by Goat Patch Brewing in Colorado Springs, spans 3 hours and is a leisure run event where participants can run, walk, or jog. Enjoy a complimentary local craft beer upon completion. Event Specifics Start Times: 10:00 AM & 10:30 AM Participants must begin within their designated 30-minute wave. All finishers get a free craft beer and a choice of a collector's pint glass or seasonal item from the Brewery Running Series. Opportunities to win Brewery Running Series merchandise. Enjoy event activities such as live music and games. Part of the proceeds benefits local nonprofits. Venue The event is held at Goat Patch Brewing, 2727 N Cascade Ave #123, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Key Information This untimed event is suitable for all fitness levels. The course remains open, requiring adherence to traffic regulations. Participants must present a valid ID; those under 21 will receive a non-alcoholic beverage token. Dogs and strollers are welcome, with caution advised. Merchandise will be available for purchase. Public parking is accessible. Final event information will be emailed the week of the event. ​What is the Therapy Team?

A dedicated community of handlers and their dogs bringing comfort, connection, and healing to those in need through the power of the human-animal bond.

Purpose:
Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in hospitals, hospices, veteran centers, and community spaces—spreading kindness and creating meaningful connections through our Therapy Dog Teams.

Partnerships:

  • Mt. Carmel Veteran’s Center

  • Local hospice organizations

  • New partnerships in progress with schools and other community programs​

 

Eligibility:

✓ of the Therapy Team Prep Class, or

✓ of all three Canine Good Citizen (CGC) titles

Benefits:

✓ Way Therapy Team T-shirt

✓ Dog Team business cards

(Available for purchase for approved team members who join through evaluation.)
